Xiaomi Black shark 2 Hands-on Review
I bought the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 the day it was released officialy in the EU and I've been using it as my main device ever since. I also have a small website and I posted my review there. You can read it in full here: Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Review
The Black Shark 2 is a beast when it comes to performance. The Snapdragon 855 with their custom cooling system can handle everything without overheating or throttling due to temperature increase. I bought the 8GB/128GB version (mostly because I think it looks better in black than in silver) and I have no lag, stuttering or slowdowns. From my point of view, no reason to buy the 12GB version.
The software is close to stock Android. I was expecting MIUI but instead got JoyUI that has some changes, but not too many. Most of them focus on the gaming features. Still, the software is not as mature as MIUI or OnePlus's OxygenOS. I've been a OnePlus user for almost 4 years now and I can clearly say that their version of Android is more mature and with fewer bugs.https://showbox.bio/ https://tutuapp.uno/ https://vidmate.vet/
The cameras are good, but I've seen better. I am not a photography enthusiast so it is hard for me to compare the cameras, but based on what I've seen on the Pixel 3, Samsung S10 and Huawei p30 pro, the Black shark 2 is definitely behind. Not a lot under good lighting, but worth mentioning. If you want the best photos, look at a different phone, but otherwise, this is a great one
I love the design. It is not as dull as most smartphones, with just a simple glass/aluminium back. It has glass, aluminium, RGB lights and a very futuristic aspect. I bought it mostly because I loved how it looked. Otherwise, i would have kept my OnePlus 5t for at least another year.
NFC is missing. It may be a deal-breaker for some since you can't use mobile payments. On the other hand, it has excellent Wi-Fi signal.
If you want to know more please read my review at https://inchina.tech/2019/04/22/xiaomi-black-shark-2-hands-on-review/ (keep in mind, it is a small site where only I am writing, but I tried to do my best) and feel free to ask anything related to the phone here. I will try to answer. I also bought the "pro kit" so you can ask thing related to the controllers as well.
